The San Diego Surf Academy 2012 Girls just completed their first tournament this year. The Manchester City Cup took place from May 27th through May 29th at Surf Cup Sports Park (Del Mar). Here are the match results:

In the first game vs PRFC, the girls were amazing. Ava took the first shot and scored the first goal in the first half and it was just all net after that!
Ajax United is a decent team and the girls’ heart’s just weren’t in this one. Not sure if they were overconfident after winning the first game so well, or if they were tired from an early game.
In the final game, the team had a rough start in the first half. They fought so hard in the second half, making it impossible for the opponent to score again, but they were also not able to snag any of their own goals. So proud of how they fought back and ended the match on a positive note, even with a loss.
Many lessons were learned in this first tournament of the season. The bonds between teammates are growing stronger! Now we move forward and prepare for the Rebels Showcase next weekend.
