Ava attended the tryouts for the 2012 Girls San Diego Surf Soccer team in California in mid-February 2023.
The day after tryouts, Ava was invited by Coach Bruno to join the Flight 2 team along with 13 other girls. 
Team practices are on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and age group training occurs every second Monday. Age group training is where the Flight 1, Flight 2, and Flight 3 coaches spend time working with each team. This way the girls are learning from three coaches, not just one.
